Virāṭa-parva Adhyāya 22 — Draupadī’s Abduction Attempt and Bhīma’s Suppression of the Kīcakas

तमुवाच सुकेशान्ता कीचकस्य मया कृत: । संगमो नर्तनागारे यथावोच: परंतप,वहाँ सुन्दर लटोंवाली कृष्णाने कहा--“शत्रुतापन! जैसा तुमने कहा था, उसके अनुसार मैंने कीचकको नृत्यशालामें मिलनेका संकेत कर दिया है

tam uvāca sukeśāntā kīcakasya mayā kṛtaḥ | saṅgamo nartanāgāre yathāvochaḥ paraṃtapa ||

そのとき、美しい髪をもつ女(ドラウパディー)は言った。「敵を焼き払う者よ、あなたの仰せのとおり、キーチャカに舞踏殿で会う約束を取りつけました。」この場面における法(ダルマ)の枠組みでは、彼女の言葉は周到な策を示す—制御できる会見の場を用いてキーチャカの非道を暴き抑え、同時にヴィラータ王宮の名誉と秩序を守るためである。
