Draupadī Awakens Bhīmasena
sudeṣṇovāca ghātayāmi sukeśānte kīcakaṃ yadi manyase | yo ’sau tvāṃ kāmasammatto durlabhām avamanyate ||
Unchecked kāma (lust) leads to adharma—disrespect and violation of another’s dignity—while rulers and elders are ethically bound to restrain wrongdoing and protect those under their care.
Sudeṣṇā addresses the woman with beautiful tresses (Draupadī in disguise) and says that, if she agrees, she will have Kīcaka killed because he is lust-crazed and is insulting her.
