Draupadī-apaharaṇa-saṃdeśaḥ
Report of Draupadī’s Abduction and the Pāṇḍavas’ Pursuit
कुरुश्रेष्ठ) दानवोंका आवेश होनेपर भीष्म, द्रोण आदिकी अन्तरात्मापर भी उन दानवोंका ही अधिकार हो जायगा। उस दशामें युद्धमें स्नेहरहित हो प्रहार करते हुए वे लोग पुत्रों, भाइयों, पितृजनों, बान्धवों, शिष्यों, कुटुम्बीजनों, बालकों तथा बूढ़ोंको भी नहीं छोड़ेंगे ।।
prahariṣyanti vivaśāḥ sneham utsṛjya dūrataḥ | hṛṣṭāḥ puruṣaśārdūlāḥ kaluṣīkṛtamānasāḥ | avijñānavimūḍhāś ca daivāc ca vidhinirmitaḥ ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは言った。「おお、クル族の最上よ。ダーナヴァの憑依が起これば、ビーシュマやドローナらの内なる自己さえも、彼らの支配に落ちる。その時、戦場において情を失い、子も、兄弟も、父も、親族も、弟子も、家の者も――幼き者も老いた者も――容赦なく打ちかかる。強いられて、あの人中の猛虎たちは愛を遠く捨て、歓喜しつつも心は穢れ、無明に惑わされ、遠間より武器で撃つ。まるで運命そのものに駆り立てられるかのように戦うのだ――それは宿業の定めが織りなす結末である。」
