इस प्रकार श्रीम्याभारत वनपर्वके अन्तर्गत मार्कण्डेयसमास्यापर्वनें मत्स्योपाख्यानविषयक एक सौ सतासीवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ
iti prakāraḥ śrīmahābhārata-vanaparvaṇi antargata-mārkaṇḍeya-samāsyāparvaṇā matsyopākhyāna-viṣayaka ekaśata-saptāśītitamo 'dhyāyaḥ samāptaḥ
かくして、聖なる『マハーバーラタ』の「林の巻（ヴァナ・パルヴァ）」に属する「マールカンデーヤ問答章（Markandeya Samasya Parvan）」中、「マツヤ・ウパーキャーナ（マツヤ王の物語）」第百八十七章は終わる。この結語（コロフォン）は、語られた教示の一段が完結したことを告げ、森の巻という大きな枠組みの中にそれを位置づける。
