Kṛtayuga Description and Instruction on Royal Dharma
महद्धयेतदचिन्त्यं च यदहं दृष्टवान् प्रभो । इत्युक्त: स मया श्रीमान् देवदेवो महाद्युति: । सान्त्वयन् मामिदं वाक्यमुवाच वदतां वर:
mahadd hy etad acintyaṃ ca yad ahaṃ dṛṣṭavān prabho | ity uktaḥ sa mayā śrīmān devadevo mahādyutiḥ | sāntvayan mām idaṃ vākyam uvāca vadatāṃ varaḥ |
「主よ、私が見たものはあまりに広大で、思惟の及ばぬものです。」そう申し上げると、大神光を放つ神々の神、語りの第一人者たるその尊き御方は、私を慰め、次のようにお答えになった。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the limits of ordinary cognition before the divine: profound experiences may be ‘vast’ and ‘inconceivable,’ and the proper response from the divine teacher is reassurance and guiding speech rather than fear or confusion.
The narrator reports that the speaker (addressing the Lord) confesses being overwhelmed by an extraordinary vision. In response, the radiant ‘God of gods’ consoles him and begins to speak, setting up the next instruction or explanation.
