प्रावृट्-शरत्-वर्णनम् — Description of the Monsoon and Autumn; Sarasvatī in the Pāṇḍavas’ Exile
मृगाणां स वराहाणां महिषाणां महाभुज: विनिष्नंस्तत्र तत्रेव भीमो भीमपराक्रम:
mṛgāṇāṃ sa varāhāṇāṃ mahiṣāṇāṃ mahābhujaḥ | viniṣṇan tatra tatraiva bhīmo bhīmaparākramaḥ ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。大いなる腕を持つビーマ――その武威は名のとおり恐るべきもの――は狩りに赴き、あちらこちらで鹿や猪、さらには野生の水牛までも打ち倒した。この一節は、ビーマの圧倒的な力と、流浪の森暮らしが帯びる苛烈な生存の気配を示す。狩猟は力の誇示であると同時に、追放の身を支える糧でもあった。
