Indra’s Meeting with the Pāṇḍavas
कुबेरसदन दृष्ट्वा राक्षसांश्व निपातितान् । भ्राता भ्रातरमासीनमत्रवीत् पृथिवीपति:,राजा युधिष्ठिरने कुबेरका भवन देखकर और मारे गये राक्षसोंकी ओर दृष्टिपात करके अपने पास बैठे हुए भाई भीमसेनसे कहा
Vaiśampāyana uvāca: Kuberasadanaṃ dṛṣṭvā rākṣasāṃś ca nipātitān | bhrātā bhrātaram āsīnam atravīt pṛthivīpatiḥ, rājā Yudhiṣṭhiraḥ ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。クベーラの住まいを目にし、また打ち倒された羅刹たちに視線を向けたのち、地上の主たるユディシュティラ王は、近くに座する弟ビーマセーナに語りかけた。この場面は、正法に立つ王が暴力に対して示す沈思の応答を物語る。力が用いられた後であっても、王はまずその帰結を見つめ、しかるのちに親族へ慎重に言葉を発するのである。
