Omens and Reception During Keśava’s Departure

The verse foregrounds kṛtajñatā (gratitude) and putra-dharma (a child’s duty): one must remember and honor the sacrifices of parents/guardians, inquire after their well-being, and acknowledge protection received in times of mortal danger.
In the Udyoga Parva’s pre-war diplomacy, Yudhiṣṭhira addresses Kṛṣṇa, recalling how their mother Kuntī safeguarded the Pāṇḍavas amid Duryodhana’s threats and rescued them from near-death situations; he asks Kṛṣṇa to meet her and convey concern for her welfare.
