Sañjaya’s Report
अस्मै वराण्यददंस्तत्र देवा दृष्टवा भीम॑ कर्म कृतं रणे तत् । श्रमश्न ते युध्यमानस्य न स्या- दाकाशे चाप्सु च ते क्रम: स्थात्
asmai varāṇy adadaṁs tatra devā dṛṣṭvā bhīmaṁ karma kṛtaṁ raṇe tat | śramaś ca te yudhyamānasya na syād ākāśe cāpsu ca te kramaḥ sthāt ||
サンジャヤは語った。戦場にてその畏るべき偉業が成し遂げられたのを見て、神々はその場で彼に恩寵を授けた。「おおケーシャヴァよ、戦うとき決して疲れを覚えるな。天にあっても水にあっても、その歩みは妨げられぬように。」この段は、神の加護を、卓絶した武勇への承認であり、正義の戦いの効力を守る盾であると描く。授けられる力は残虐のためではなく、定められ、ダルマにかなう務めを成就するためのものである。
