Transliteration

tatraiva tenāsya babhūva yuddhaṃ mahābalenātibalasya viṣṇoḥ | śete sa kṛṣṇena hataḥ parāsu-vātinevonmathitaḥ karṇikāraḥ ||

Translation

サンジャヤは語った。その場で、計り知れぬ威力をもつヴィシュヌは、並外れて強大な敵と刃を交えた。クリシュナに討たれて命を失い、彼は戦場に永く横たわった。さながら烈風に根こそぎ倒されたカルニカーラの樹のように。この譬えは、いかに驕れる力であろうと、正法に導かれた神威に抗えば崩れ去ることを示している。
