Sañjaya’s Report
जानन्तोअस्य प्रकृतिं केशवस्य न्ययोजयन् दस्युवधाय कृष्णम् | स तत् कर्म प्रतिशुश्राव दुष्कर- मैश्वर्यवान् सिद्धिषु वासुदेव:
sañjaya uvāca | jānanto 'sya prakṛtiṁ keśavasya nyayojayan dasyuvadāya kṛṣṇam | sa tat karma pratiśuśrāva duṣkaram aiśvaryavān siddhiṣu vāsudevaḥ ||
サンジャヤは語った。ケーシャヴァの真の本性を知り尽くした神々は、略奪の徒を滅ぼすためにクリシュナを任じた。主権の威力を備え、志す事を必ず成就するヴァースデーヴァは、その困難な務めを聞き、これを引き受けた。この段は、神の力を自己の支配のためではなく、慈悲に根ざした必然の力として、暴虐を抑え秩序を回復するために用いるものだと示している。
