Ambā Seeks Refuge with Rāma Jāmadagnya
भीष्म: पुरुषमानी च जितकाशी तथैव च । तस्मात् प्रतिक्रिया युक्ता भीष्मे कारयितुं तव
bhīṣmaḥ puruṣamānī ca jitakāśī tathaiva ca | tasmāt pratikriyā yuktā bhīṣme kārayituṃ tava ||
アクリタヴラナは言った。「ビーシュマは己の男の武勇を誇り、今まさに勝利に酔いしれている。ゆえに、報復はビーシュマその人に対して行われるべきだ。」
अकृतव्रण उवाच
The verse highlights how pride in prowess and triumph can make a warrior a focal point for counter-action; it frames retaliation as something to be directed toward the principal agent of perceived injury, reflecting the martial ethic of requital and the strategic targeting of leadership.
Akṛtavraṇa comments on Bhīṣma’s current mood—confident and elated after success—and advises that any intended countermeasure or revenge should be aimed specifically at Bhīṣma, implying he is the key figure whose defeat would answer the affront and shift the balance.
