अश्चानां काड्क्षितार्थानां पडिमानि शतानि वै | शतद्वयेन कन्येयं भवता प्रतिगृह्मताम्,आकर उन्होंने कहा--“गुरुदेव! आप जैसे चाहते थे, वैसे ही ये छः सौ घोड़े आपकी सेवामें प्रस्तुत हैं और शेष दो सौके बदले आप इस कन्याको ग्रहण करें
aśvānāṃ kāṅkṣitārthānāṃ ṣaḍimāni śatāni vai | śatadvayena kanyeyaṃ bhavatā pratigṛhyatām |
ナーラダは言った。「尊き師よ、あなたが望まれた六百頭の馬を、しかと奉じて参りました。なお残る二百頭の代わりとして、この乙女をお受け取りください。」
नारद उवाच
The verse highlights the ethics of fulfilling an agreed obligation through proper offering and respectful speech: what is desired is delivered, and a shortfall is compensated through an alternative accepted within the narrative’s social norms.
Narada reports the delivery of six hundred requested horses and proposes that, in lieu of the remaining two hundred, the recipient should accept a maiden as compensation, indicating a negotiated settlement of a promised payment.
