रूपवान् सुभगो दान्त: सत्यवादी जितेन्द्रिय: । दानमानगृहीतश्न कार्यो भवति वाचक:
rūpavān subhago dāntaḥ satyavādī jitendriyaḥ | dānamānagṛhītaś ca kāryo bhavati vācakaḥ ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは言った。「容姿端麗で福運に恵まれ、節度を保ち、真実を語り、感官を制する者—そのような学匠を、布施と敬意によって遇し支えるなら、語り手（vācaka）として任ずべきである。」
