Svargārohaṇa-parva Adhyāya 5 — Karmaphala-Nirdeśa and Phalāśruti (कर्मफलनिर्देशः फलश्रुतिश्च)
स्वर्गकामो लभेत् स्वर्ग जयकामो लभेज्जयम् | गर्भिणी लभते पुत्र कन््यां वा बहुभागिनीम्
svargakāmo labhet svargaṁ jayakāmo labhej jayam | garbhiṇī labhate putraṁ kanyāṁ vā bahubhāginīm ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは言った。「天界を望む者は天界を得、勝利を望む者は勝利を得る。同じく、身重の女は『マハーバーラタ』を聴聞し（あるいは誦する）ことによって、ふさわしき男子を得る。さもなくば、大いなる福運を具えた娘を得る。」
