akhilaṃ sahasā rājā praṣṭum aicchad yudhiṣṭhiraḥ | tato 'sya bhagavān indraḥ kathayāmāsa devarāṭ ||
王ユディシュティラは、あらゆることを余すところなく問おうと、ふと心に決した。すると、神々の王たる福徳のインドラは、問いが発せられるより先に、すべてを彼に語り始めた――一つ一つを示し、明らかにしつつ、道義の理解を求める者を慈悲深く導く師のごとく。
