सम्यग्वृत्ता: स्वधर्मस्था न कुतश्चिद् भयान्विता: । इस प्रकार राजाके आश्रयमें रहकर सारी प्रजा सदाचारपरायण, अपने-अपने धर्ममें तत्पर और सब ओरसे निर्भय हो जाती है
samyagvṛttāḥ svadharmasthā na kutaścid bhayānvitāḥ |
王の庇護のもとに住むなら、民はみな品行正しく規律を守り、それぞれの務めに堅く立ち、いずれの方角からも恐れを抱かぬ。ここに王権の倫理的役割が示される。統治が正しく、しかも守護的であるとき、社会の秩序と各人のダルマは自ずから栄え、不安は退く。
ऐल उवाच
Righteous kingship (protective, orderly rule) enables people to live with good conduct, remain established in their own dharma, and become free from fear; political protection is presented as a moral condition for societal virtue.
Aiḷa is describing the effect of a king’s shelter: when the ruler provides proper protection and stability, the populace collectively becomes disciplined, dutiful, and secure.
