ビーシュマは語った。ヴェーダに堅く拠り、またその補助学(諸ヴェーダーンガ)にも通暁した苦行の弟子たちは、その時ヴィヤーサのもとへ近づいた。心は鎮まり、感官は制せられ、師の周りに集い、合掌して申し上げた――聖なる学と戒律ある行いに根ざした導きを求めて。
भीष्म उवाच
