याज्ञवल्क्य उवाच
As a colophon, the verse does not add new doctrine; it signals the completion of a Mokṣadharma chapter centered on Yājñavalkya and Janaka, framing the teaching as a reflective dialogue aimed at liberation (mokṣa) through right understanding and disciplined living.
The text formally closes the chapter in the Śānti Parva’s Mokṣadharma section, identifying its subject as the dialogue between the sage Yājñavalkya and King Janaka and marking the end of that discourse.
