Śuka’s Manifestation from the Araṇi (Āraṇeya-janma) — शुकजन्म (आरणेय-सम्भव)

द्यावापृथिव्योरित्येष राजन्‌ वेदेषु पठ्यते । तयो: शकलयोर्मध्यमाकाशमकरोत्‌ प्रभु:

dyāvāpṛthivyor ity eṣa rājan vedeṣu paṭhyate | tayoḥ śakalayor madhyam ākāśam akarot prabhuḥ |

ヤージュニャヴァルキヤは言った。「王よ、ヴェーダには『ディヤーヴァー・プリティヴィー』(天と地)という句が誦される。その二つの半分の間の空隙より、主は中間界—アーカーシャ(ākāśa)、すなわち天と地のあいだの広がり—を造り給うた。かく伝統は、宇宙の秩序は神威と度ある分離によって生じ、混沌より起こるのではないと教える。」
