Kārttikeya-Abhiṣecana: Mātṛgaṇa-Nāma Saṃkīrtana and Skanda’s Commission

महात्मा त्वग्निपुत्राय महाबलपराक्रमौ । महामना मेरुने ही अग्निपुत्र कार्तिकेयको स्थिर और अतिस्थिर नामक दो पार्षद और दिये। वे दोनों महान्‌ बल और पराक्रमसे सम्पन्न थे

mahātmā tv agniputrāya mahābala-parākramau | mahāmanā meruṇe hi agniputraḥ kārtikeyaḥ sthiraṃ cāti-sthiraṃ nāmakaṃ dvau pārṣadau dadau | tau ubhau mahān bala-parākrama-sampannau āsatām |

ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。「その大いなる魂の者は、アグニの子カールティケーヤに、スティラとアティ・スティラという二人の従者を授けた。二人はいずれも並外れた力と英雄の武勇を備えていた。この一節は、神々や高貴なる者が、聖なる務めにおいて秩序と実効を保つため、有能な補佐を任じることを示している。」
