Transliteration

vaiśampāyana uvāca | tato 'bhiṣeka-sambhārān sarvān sambhṛtya śāstrataḥ | bṛhaspatiḥ samiddhe 'gnau juhāvāgnim yathā-vidhi ||

Translation

ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。ついでブリハスパティは、シャーストラの規定に従って灌頂のための一切の具を整え、よく燃え立つ聖火の中へ、儀軌の定めるとおりに供物を捧げて護摩を修した。ここに示されるのは、神や英雄の昇格でさえ衝動ではなく、規律と正当な手続きに根ざすべきだということ—力はダルマと正しい祭式の秩序によってこそ正当化されるのである。
