Duryodhana’s Refusal of Reconciliation

Transliteration

naṣṭacandrā yathā rātriḥ seneyaṃ hatanāyakā | nāgabhagnadrumā śuṣkā nadīvākulatāṃ gatā ||

Translation

サンジャヤは言った。「月を失った夜が闇に沈むように、我らの軍もまた――総大将を失って――輝きと自信を奪われた。象が岸の樹々をへし折った干上がった川のごとく、いまや動揺し、乱れに落ちている。」
