भीमसेनस्य कौरवसुतवधः तथा श्रुतर्वावधः
Slaying of Kaurava princes and the fall of Śrutarvā
अपश्यन्तो रथानीके दुर्योधनमरिंदमम् । राजानं मृगयामासुस्तव पुत्र महारथम्
apaśyanto rathānīke duryodhanam ariṃdamam | rājānaṃ mṛgayāmāsus tava putraṃ mahāratham ||
サञ्जयは語った。密集する車陣の中に、ドゥルヨーダナ—王にして敵を屈する者—の姿が見えなかったため、汝の大車戦の勇士たちは汝の子を探し始めた。戦の道義が霞むその只中で、この偈は、軍の結束と志が指導者の「見える在場」によって支えられ、そしてその指導が突如欠ければ、不安と混乱がたちまち生じることを示している。
