शस्त्राणां सड़मश्वनैव घोरस्तत्राभवत् पुन: । महाराज! बहुत देरतक तो उन दोनोंका युद्ध एक-सा चलता रहा। फिर उनमें वहाँ अस्त्र-शस्त्रोंका घोर संघर्ष आरम्भ हो गया
sañjaya uvāca |
śastrāṇāṃ saḍamaśvanā iva ghoras tatrābhavat punaḥ |
サンジャヤは言った。「大王よ、そこに再び、馬の轟くいななきにも似た恐るべき喧騒が起こった。武器が打ち合わされる音から生じたのである。長いあいだ二人の戦いは互角に続いていたが、やがて飛び道具と刃の激烈な衝突が本格的に始まった。」
