The Commencement of the Great Departure

उदीची पुनरावृत्य ययुर्भरतसत्तमा: | प्रादक्षिण्यं चिकीर्षन्त: पृथिव्या योगधर्मिण:

udīcīṃ punarāvṛtya yayur bharatasattamāḥ | prādakṣiṇyaṃ cikīrṣantaḥ pṛthivyā yogadharmiṇaḥ ||

再び北へと向きを変え、バーラタ族の最勝者たちは進み続けた。ヨーガの規律に安住し、彼らは大地を吉祥なる右旋(プラダクシナー)によって周回し終えることを望んだ――それは敬虔と自制をもって臨む最後の旅の作法であった。
