Karṇa’s advance against the Pāṇḍava host; Arjuna’s clash with the Saṃśaptakas
The verse highlights how appeals to divine authority (a boon granted by the Grandsire) are used to settle uncertainty: Duryodhana urges the listener to accept the account without wavering, emphasizing confidence and decisiveness in counsel.
Duryodhana introduces a prior episode: certain beings received a boon from the Grandsire. He frames the story as reliable and instructs his listener to pay attention and not doubt the account.
