धृतराष्ट्रस्य शोकविलापः — Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Lament and Inquiry to Sañjaya
रसानां चाभवन् कुल्या भक्ष्याणां चापि पर्वता: । सहस्रव्यामा नृपते यूपाश्चासन् हिरण्मया:,वहाँ रसकी नहरें बहती थीं और अन्नके पहाड़ों-जैसे ढेर लगे हुए थे। राजन्! उनके यज्ञमें सहस्र व्याम-विस्तृत सुवर्णमय यूप सुशोभित होते थे
rasānāṁ cābhavan kulyā bhakṣyāṇāṁ cāpi parvatāḥ | sahasravyāmā nṛpate yūpāś cāsan hiraṇmayāḥ ||
そこには甘美な汁と甘露のごとき飲み物の水路が流れ、食の山が幾重にも積み上がっていた。おお王よ、その祭祀には黄金のユーパ(祭柱)が燦然と立ち、一本ごとに千ヴ்யーマに及ぶ長さであった。
नारद उवाच
The verse highlights the ideal of royal dharma expressed through yajña and dāna: abundance is not merely displayed but ritually ordered and offered, portraying prosperity as something to be consecrated and shared under sacred norms.
Nārada describes an extraordinarily magnificent sacrifice: streams of rich liquids flow, food is piled in mountain-like heaps, and immense golden yūpas stand as ritual markers—emphasizing the scale and splendor of the ceremonial setting.
