भीष्मपातने कर्णविलापः | Karṇa’s Lament upon Seeing Bhīṣma Fallen
नाहमन्यं प्रपश्यामि कुरूणां कुरुपुड्रव । बुद्धया विशुद्धया युक्तो यः कुरूंस्तारयेद् भयात्
sañjaya uvāca |
nāham anyaṁ prapaśyāmi kurūṇāṁ kurupuṅgava |
buddhyā viśuddhayā yukto yaḥ kurūṁs tārayet bhayāt ||
サンジャヤは言った。「おお、クル族の最勝者よ。清らかに磨き抜かれた判断力を備え、この危難を越えてクル族を導き、恐れから救い出せる者を、私は他に見いだせない。」
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical necessity of clear, purified judgment (viśuddhā buddhi) in leadership: in times of crisis and fear, only a leader with discernment can guide a community safely through danger.
Sañjaya addresses a foremost Kuru and expresses his assessment that among the Kuru side he sees no one else capable—through pure discernment—of rescuing and steadying the Kurus amid the fearful pressures of the war situation.
