तस्मिन् हते राजपुत्रे पज्चालानां यशस्करे । हत द्रोणं हत द्रोणमित्यासीज्नि:स्वनो महान्
tasmin hate rājaputre pāñcālānāṃ yaśaskare | hata droṇaṃ hata droṇam ity āsīj niḥsvano mahān ||
サンジャヤは言った。その王子――パンチャーラの名声を高めた者――が討たれるや、そこに大いなる騒然が起こり、「ドローナを討て！ ドローナを討て！」という叫びが轟いた。この叫声は、名高き戦士の死がただちに戦略と道義の転機となり、カウラヴァ軍の大黒柱と見なされたドローナを倒すことへと戦の狙いが移ったことを示している。
