Educational Q&A

The verse highlights dharmic devotion: sincere worship is expressed through disciplined practice (japa), sacrificial action (homa), and respectful offerings (upahāra), grounded in honoring the deity with purity and reverence.

Vyāsa recalls that the addressed person had established a radiant icon of Lord Śaṅkara at that place and had performed worship through mantra-recitation, fire-offerings, and gifts.
