धर्मराजस्य तद् वाक््यं नाभिशड्कितुमह्सि । “जिसके लिये आपने शस्त्र उठाया, जिसके जीवनकी अभिलाषा रखकर आप जी रहे हैं, वह तो आज पीछे समरभूमिमें गिरकर चिरनिद्रामें सो रहा है और आपको इसकी सूचनातक नहीं दी गयी। धर्मराज युधिष्ठिरके उस कथनपर तो आपको संदेह या अविश्वास नहीं करना चाहिये"
sañjaya uvāca | dharmarājasya tad vākyaṃ nābhiśaṅkitum arhasi |
サンジャヤは言った。「ダルマラージャ（ユディシュティラ）のその言葉を疑ってはならぬ。この叙事詩の道義の秩序において、ユディシュティラの言は真実の規矩と見なされる。ゆえに、汝が武器を取ったその人、汝がその命を願って生きてきたその人が、今や戦場の後方に倒れて長き眠りに就いたと彼が告げるなら、その証言は疑いなく受け入れられるべきである。」
