Droṇa-parva Adhyāya 155 — Ghaṭotkaca-nidhana-śoka and Karṇa-śakti-vyaya
Kṛṣṇa’s strategic reassurance
atha droṇo drutaṃ tatra pratyadṛśyata saṃyuge | hṛṣṭo duryodhanaś cāpi dṛḍham ādāya kārmukam ||
The verse highlights how the presence of a capable leader can restore confidence and resolve in followers. Ethically, it points to the power of morale and command in war—how emotions like exhilaration (hṛṣa) can intensify commitment to one’s chosen cause, whether righteous or not.
Sañjaya reports that Droṇa becomes visible again on the battlefield, moving swiftly. Seeing this, Duryodhana is delighted and, with renewed determination, takes up his bow, ready to continue the fight under Droṇa’s leadership.
