अलंबलवधः (Alaṃbala-vadhaḥ) / The Slaying of Alaṃbala and the Advance toward Karṇa

संजयने कहा--राजन! मैं बड़े खेदके साथ उस महासमरमें घटित हुई घटनाओंका आपके समक्ष वर्णन करूँगा। आप स्थिर होकर अपने दुराचारका परिणाम सुनें ।। पूर्वमेव हि कृष्णस्य मनोगतमिदं प्रभो । विजेतव्यो यथा वीर: सात्यकि: सौमदत्तिना,प्रभो! भगवान्‌ श्रीकृष्णके मनमें पहले ही यह बात आ गयी थी कि आज वीर सात्यकिको सोमदत्तपुत्र भूरिश्रवा परास्त कर देगा

sañjaya uvāca—rājan! ahaṁ mahāsamare ghaṭitāḥ kathāḥ mahāśocena tava purataḥ prabravīmi; tvaṁ sthiro bhūtvā svadurācārasya phalaṁ śṛṇu. pūrvam eva hi kṛṣṇasya manogataṁ idaṁ prabho—vijetavyo yathā vīraḥ sātyakiḥ saumadattinā.

サンジャヤは言った。「王よ、深い悲しみをもって、あの大戦に起こった出来事をあなたの前に語ろう。心を静め、自らの不義の報いを聞かれよ。主よ、すでに以前からクリシュナの御心にはこの思いが生じていた――今日、勇士サーティヤキはサウマダッティ(ソーマダッタの子ブーリシュラヴァス)によって屈せられる運命にある、と。」
