Chapter 148: Karṇa’s Pressure, Dhṛṣṭadyumna Unhorsed, and the Summoning of Ghaṭotkaca
संछाद्यमान: कौन्तेय: शरजालैरनेकश: । अक्रुध्यत् स महाबाहुरजित: कुरुनन्दन:,इस प्रकार बारंबार बाणसमूहोंसे आच्छादित किये जानेपर कुरुकूुलको आनन्दित करनेवाले अपराजित वीर कुन्तीकुमार महाबाहु अर्जुन अत्यन्त कुपित हो उठे
sañchādyamānaḥ kaunteyaḥ śarajālair anekaśaḥ | akrudhyat sa mahābāhur ajitaḥ kurunandanaḥ ||
サञ्जयは言った。「かくして幾度も、クンティーの子アルジュナ—強大な腕を持ち、不敗にしてクル族の喜び—が無数の矢の網に覆われると、彼は激しく憤り燃え上がった。」
संजय उवाच
The verse underscores the ethical tension in warfare: even a righteous warrior trained in restraint can be driven to anger by repeated aggression, and must still act within the bounds of kṣatriya-dharma rather than uncontrolled rage.
Arjuna is repeatedly showered and hemmed in by dense volleys of arrows; under this sustained pressure he becomes intensely angry, signaling an imminent shift to a more forceful counterattack.
