Droṇa Encircled at Night: Coalition Advance and Battlefield Omens (द्रोणपर्यावरणं रात्रियुद्धवर्णनम्)
अभयं रौद्रकर्माणं दुर्विमोचनमेव च । त्रिभिस्त्रीनवधीद् भीम: पुनरेव सुतांस्तव,इसके बाद भीमने पुनः तीन बाण मारकर अभय, रौद्रकर्मा तथा दुर्विमोचन (दुर्विरोचन)--आपके इन तीन पुत्रोंको भी मार गिराया
sañjaya uvāca | abhayaṁ raudrakarmāṇaṁ durvimochanam eva ca | tribhis trīn avadhīd bhīmaḥ punar eva sutāṁs tava ||
サンジャヤは言った。「ビーマはまたも三本の矢で、アバヤ、ラウドラカルマン、ドゥルヴィモーチャナ――そなたの三人の息子を討ち倒した。」
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the tragic ethical tension of dharma in war: even when combat is framed as duty, its immediate fruit is the destruction of kin and the deepening of sorrow. Sanjaya’s matter-of-fact reporting contrasts with the human cost borne by families and kingdoms.
Sanjaya informs Dhritarashtra that Bhima, continuing his onslaught, kills three more of Dhritarashtra’s sons—Abhaya, Raudrakarman, and Durvimochana—using three arrows.
