Droṇa Encircled at Night: Coalition Advance and Battlefield Omens (द्रोणपर्यावरणं रात्रियुद्धवर्णनम्)
विप्रै: कृतस्वस्त्ययनो विजयोत्पादसूचित: । पश्यन्नेवात्मनो बुद्धिं विजयानन्दकारिणीम्,उस समय ब्राह्मणोंने स्वस्तिवाचन किया, जिससे विजय-लाभ सूचित होता था। उन्हें अपनी बुद्धि विजयानन्दका अनुभव करती-सी दिखायी दी
sañjaya uvāca | vipraiḥ kṛtasvastyayano vijayotpādasūcitaḥ | paśyann evātmano buddhiṃ vijayānandakāriṇīm |
サञ्जャヤは言った。「ブラーフマナたちはスヴァスティの祝祷を唱え、勝利の獲得を告げると受け取られる吉祥の儀礼を行った。彼が見守るうちに、自らの内に決意が立ち現れるのを覚えた—己の बुद्धि（知性）が、来たる勝利の歓喜を生み出しているかのようであった。儀礼の徴と内なる確信とが、戦の勢いを養うのである。」
