हयैश्व कनकापीडै: पतितैस्तत्र मेदिनी । शैनेयशरसंकृत्तै: शोणितौघपरिप्लुतै:

Transliteration

hayaiś ca kanakāpīḍaiḥ patitais tatra medinī | śaineyaśarasaṅkṛttaiḥ śoṇitaughapariplutaiḥ ||

Translation

サンジャヤは言った。そこでは大地が、金の頭飾りを落としたまま倒れ伏す戦馬で覆われ、さらにシャイネーヤの矢に斬り倒された者たちから溢れ出る血の奔流に浸されていた――栄華も命も等しく塵へと帰す戦の荒廃の相であり、暴力があらゆる世の飾りを呑み込むことを告げるものであった。
