लाघवाद् द्विजमुख्यस्य सात्वतस्य च मारिष । विशेष नाध्यगच्छाम समावास्तां नरर्षभौ,माननीय नरेश! हाथोंकी फुर्तीकी दृष्टिसे द्विजश्रेष्ठ द्रोणाचार्य और सात्यकिमें हमें कोई अन्तर नहीं जान पड़ा था। वे दोनों ही नरश्रेष्ठ समान प्रतीत होते थे
lāghavād dvijamukhyasya sātvatasya ca māriṣa | viśeṣaṃ nādhyagacchāma samāvāstāṃ nararṣabhau ||
サンジャヤは言った。「尊き御方よ、婆羅門の第一人者ドローナと、サートヴァタの勇士の素早い手さばきを見れば、我らには両者の差を見いだせなかった。人間の中の雄牛たるその二人は、まことに互角に見えた。」
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights impartial recognition of excellence: even amid partisan war narration, true skill and valor are acknowledged without distortion, suggesting an ethical ideal of truthful witness and fair appraisal.
Sañjaya reports that, judging by their speed and dexterity in combat, Droṇa and Sātyaki appeared equally matched; he could not detect any superiority of one over the other at that moment.
