This verse is a colophon rather than a doctrinal statement: it teaches how the Mahābhārata frames warfare within an ordered textual and moral architecture—each violent episode is situated inside larger arcs of responsibility (dharma), consequence, and historical memory.
The chapter concludes. The text signals that, within the Droṇa Parva and specifically the Jayadratha-vadha episode, the account of the combat between Droṇa and Sātyaki has reached its end (chapter 98).
