Sātyaki-praveśaḥ and Duryodhana-saṃnipātaḥ
Sātyaki’s passage and Duryodhana’s mass engagement
Iti prakāraṁ Śrīmahābhārate Droṇaparvake antargataṁ Jayadrathavadhaparvaṇi Droṇācārya-Dhṛṣṭadyumnayoḥ yuddhaviṣayakaḥ saptānavatitamo 'dhyāyaḥ pūrṇaḥ.
As a colophon-like closing, the verse chiefly teaches attentiveness to narrative structure and moral gravity: the war’s episodes are formally concluded, reminding the listener that each martial encounter carries ethical consequence and advances an inexorable chain of duty, choice, and retribution.
Sanjaya signals the completion of the ninety-seventh chapter in the Drona Parva, within the Jayadratha-slaying section, specifically the portion describing the battle between Droṇācārya and Dhṛṣṭadyumna.
