भीष्म-युधिष्ठिर-संमर्दः

अभ्यधावन्त संक्रुद्धा: केकया: पञज्च सोदरा: । उनके बाणसमूहोंसे यशस्वी शतानीकको आच्छादित होते देख क्रोधमें भरे हुए पाँच भाई केकयराजकुमारोंने उन पाँचों महारथियोंपर धावा किया || ५३ हू ।।

abhya-dhāvanta saṅkruddhāḥ kekayāḥ pañca sodarāḥ | tān abhyāpatataḥ prekṣya tava putrā mahā-rathāḥ ||

サンジャヤは言った。怒りに駆られたケーカヤの五兄弟は、前へと突撃した。彼らが襲いかかって来るのを見て、汝の子ら—大車戦士たる勇者たち—は、その猛攻を迎え撃つ備えを整えた。この場面は、憤怒と「暴には暴で」と応じようとする衝動が、戦場における争いの輪をたちまち広げてゆくさまを示している。
