सो<वगाहा चमूं शत्रो: शरशक्तिसमाकुलाम् | भीष्ममेवाभ्ययात् तूर्ण भ्रातृभि: परिवारित:,बाण और शक्तियोंसे भरी हुई शत्रुकी सेनामें घुसकर भाइयोंसे घिरे हुए युधिष्छिर तुरंत ही भीष्मजीके पास जा पहुँचे
so ’vagāhya camūṃ śatroḥ śaraśaktisamākulām | bhīṣmam evābhyayāt tūrṇaṃ bhrātṛbhiḥ parivāritaḥ ||
サञ्जयは語った。矢と槍が渦巻く敵軍の中へ踏み込み、兄弟たちに囲まれたユディシュティラは、疾くまっすぐにビーシュマへと進み出た。この瞬間はダルマの緊張を映す。味方を守り正しき秩序を支える義務に縛られた王が、戦の苛烈な必然のただ中で、俱盧の家を護ってきた敬うべき長老と対決せねばならぬのである。
