Chapter 47: Krauñca-vyūha Deployment and Conch-Signals
Kaurava–Pāṇḍava Readiness
विवक्षितं किमस्येति संशय: सुमहान भूत् । उभयो: सेनयो राजन् युधिष्िरकृते तदा
vivakṣitaṁ kim asyeti saṁśayaḥ sumahān bhūt | ubhayoḥ senayo rājan yudhiṣṭhirakṛte tadā ||
サンジャヤは言った。「『彼はいったい何を語ろうとしているのか』という大いなる疑念が起こった、王よ。その時、両軍においてユディシュティラに関する不確かさが広がり、誰もが、義を守る王が何を宣言しようとしているのかと案じた。」
संजय उवाच
Even amid war, a dharmic leader’s words carry moral weight; the verse highlights how ethical intention (vivakṣitam) can create suspense and scrutiny, reminding that speech and purpose are central to righteous conduct.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that both sides on the battlefield became deeply uncertain about what Yudhiṣṭhira was about to say, and a widespread doubt arose regarding his intended declaration.
