तानप्याशु शरैर्भीष्म: प्रविव्याध महारथ: । इसी प्रकार दूसरे लोगोंने भी सहस्रों बाणोंद्वारा भीष्मजीको घायल किया। तब महारथी भीष्मने भी तुरंत ही अपने बाणोंद्वारा उन सबको बींध डाला

tān apy āśu śarair bhīṣmaḥ pravivyādha mahārathaḥ |

サञ्जयは語った。大車戦士ビ―シュマは、彼らの敵をもたちまち矢で貫いた。ほかの者たちが幾千の矢でビ―シュマを傷つけようとも、彼は即座に応じ、返す矢で彼らすべてを射抜いた。そこにあるのは私怨ではなく、武の技と耐え忍ぶ力によって貫かれる、容赦なき戦士の務めである。
