महान् व्यतिकरो रौद्र: सेनयो: समपद्यत । नरनागगणेष्वेवं विकीर्णेषु च सर्वश:,उन दोनों सेनाओंमें अत्यन्त भयंकर घोलमेल हो गया। इसी तरह मनुष्य और हाथियोंके समूह सब ओर बिखर गये थे

mahān vyatikaro raudraḥ senayoḥ samapadyata |
nara-nāga-gaṇeṣv evaṁ vikīrṇeṣu ca sarvaśaḥ ||
サンジャヤは言った。「両軍のあいだに、巨大で凄惨な入り乱れが生じた。同じく人々の群れと象の群れも、あらゆる方角へ散り散りとなった。」
संजय उवाच
The verse underscores how warfare quickly turns ordered formations into uncontrolled confusion, where harm spreads beyond intention; it implicitly cautions that violence generates chaos that engulfs all—men and beasts alike.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that the two sides have collided so fiercely that their ranks have mixed together, and groups of warriors and war-elephants have been scattered in all directions.
