भीष्मस्य शरशय्या-प्राप्तिः

Bhīṣma’s Fall to the Arrow-Bed

अथान्यद्‌ धनुरादाय वेगवत्‌ परवीरहा । भगदत्तं रणे क्रुद्धं विव्याध निशितै: शरै:,तब शत्रुवीरोंका हनन करनेवाले सात्यकिने दूसरा वेगवान्‌ धनुष लेकर पैने बाणोंद्वारा युद्धमें क्ुद्ध हुए भगदत्तको बींध डाला

athānyad dhanur ādāya vegavat paravīrahā | bhagadattaṃ raṇe kruddhaṃ vivyādha niśitaiḥ śaraiḥ ||

サンジャヤは言った。すると敵の勇将を屠るサーティヤキは、さらに別の俊敏な弓を取り、戦のただ中で怒り狂うバガダッタを鋭い矢で射貫いた。この場面は、止むことなき戦の奔流を示す。武勇と決意は幾度も試され、戦場の憤怒は武器ともなり、また災いともなるのである。
