Subhadrā’s Petition to Kṛṣṇa for the Revival of Parīkṣit (अभिमन्युज-प्राणरक्षा-प्रार्थना)
एवमुकक्त्वा तु वाष्णेयं पृथा पृुथुललोचना । उच्छित्य बाहू दु:खार्ता ताश्चान्या: प्रापतन् भुवि
evaṁ uktvā tu vārṣṇeyaṁ pṛthā pṛthulalocanā | ucchitya bāhū duḥkhārtā tāś cānyāḥ prāpatann bhuvi ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは言った。ヴァールシュネーヤ（聖クリシュナ）にそのように告げ終えると、広い眼をもつプリター（クンティー）は両腕を高く掲げ、悲嘆に押し潰されて大地に崩れ落ちた。他の女たちもまた同じように倒れた。この光景は、いかに剛毅な長老であっても悲しみに屈すること、そして共同の慟哭が暴力と離別の代価を告げる倫理の証人となることを示している。
