Adhyāya 51: Kṛṣṇa’s Leave-Taking and Departure for Dvārakā (द्वारकागमनानुमति)
viśvasṛgbhyas tu bhūtebhyo mahābhūtāstu sarvaśaḥ | bhūtebhyaś cāpi pañcabhyo mukto gacchet parāṃ gatim ||
Liberation (parā gati) is described as freedom from identification with and bondage to the five great elements; transcending elemental embodiment is the mark of the highest attainment.
Vāyudeva is speaking in a doctrinal register, explaining a cosmological sequence (beings → great elements) and then turning it into a soteriological point: the one who is released from the five elements reaches the supreme goal.
