tvaṁ bhūtānām adhipatis tvayi lokāḥ pratiṣṭhitāḥ | namucer viśvarūpasya nihantā tvaṁ balasya ca ||
ヴィヤーサは言った。「汝は一切衆生の主宰者、諸世界は汝を拠り所として立つ。汝はナムチ、ヴィシュヴァルーパ、そして阿修羅バラを討ち滅ぼした者。ゆえに汝は、宇宙の秩序を支える者、諸界の安定を脅かす力を除く守護者として讃えられる。」
व्यास उवाच
The verse frames righteous sovereignty as the maintenance of stability for all beings: the worlds ‘stand established’ on the rightful lord who protects order by overcoming destructive forces. Ethical authority is linked to responsibility—supporting life and restraining chaos.
Vyāsa addresses the Devarāja (Indra) with a formal eulogy, recalling Indra’s celebrated victories over Namuci, Viśvarūpa, and the asura Bala, and presenting these deeds as signs of his role as protector and cosmic upholder.
